Overview of role: system architect for network management development projects.
Tasks in role include network management consultancy, specification and design of network management systems, implementation and testing of network management system software, System Design Authority role (technical lead internally, technical customer liaison externally), ad hoc contribution to bids, ad hoc support contribution to sales and marketing.
Suitable education may be a minimum of honours degree 2:1 and above in Software Engineering.
Successful candidate will have knowledge of C++ and Java, which is essential. Knowledge of Oracle, Network Management standards (e.g. SNMP, CMIP), and knowledge of third party network management system development tools (e.g. Netcool, Openview) is desirable.
We would expect a track record including network management system design, network management system development, team leading, and customer interfacing.
In addition, to complement the skills of existing group members the candidate should be experienced, strong, confident and willing in team leading, customer interfacing and in support to sales and marketing, whilst of course also demonstrating the appropriate technical skills,
