description: This well established company based in Cambridgeshire, is solely focused on the design, manufacture and distribution of digital receivers and decoders for the reception of digital satellite, cable and terrestrial television.

They seek Software Engineers (MPEG) to start work on the development of new exciting projects.

You will need to be degree qualified in Computer Science with at least 2 years experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS –

C / C++ / assembler.
Understands software engineering formal methods (e.g. OOD, SSADM etc).
Experience of common SE tools (e.g make, McCabe, CVS etc).
Writing technical specifications for small software components.
Implementation and debugging of simple systems.
Estimation and progress reporting.
Good problem solving skills.
Characterisation and accurate reporting of problems.
Microsoft Word / Excel.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Knowledge of MPEG standards.
Experience of RTOS development (e.g. VxWorks, PSOS, WinCE etc).
Basic Unix/NT system administration skills.
Experience of fault report systems.
Experience of RISC OS.
